This past weekend, I worked on my coolest gig thus far: I was hired to a camera crew to record the World Basketball Festival in Rucker Park. Nike’s long advertised World Basketball Festival took place in Rucker in Harlem and they were giving back to the community by sponsoring professional quality basketball entertainment and accommodation. There were also many fun things they set up to do in the park plus cool merchandise on sale.

I got to see the some of the world’s most skilled basketball players in one weekend, duke it out on the Rucker Park court. Teams that played were the Puerto Rico National Team, Brazil National National Team, Puerto Rico high school team (and those guys are ridiculously nice at ball), NYC all start team, EBC High School All stars and the EBC All Stars (EBC = Entertainment Basketball Classics for those of you who may not know). On top of that, there were many celebrity basketball appearances: Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Dwayne Wade, Kobe Bryant and Micheal Jordan! Also there were vast array of talented halftime performances and DJ Z-Trip performed a set (that practically made my summer)!

I got some great photos and some footage when I wasn’t with the court-side camera. A lot people were moving around trying to get shots as well, so please note the video footage may be shaky and that isn’t the true true representation video quality I normally get. Check them out.
