I filmed this interview last year October. Lupe FIasco and Spazecraft were workshopping teenagers in L.E.S. in Manhattan for an organization called World Up. For a while I didn’t know what to do with the footage but I figured I might as well put it online to share and show community involvement. Leave a comment below if you digg it!

New Music Video – Presice “EARFLUENCE”
It’s been while since I made a new post. I glad to announce a new music video I produced and directed for Presice but this one went for the more cinematic and short film feel. IT had been getting great reception so far and I’d love for you to watch and let the film speak for itself. Leave your comments for the video. (As you watch do pay attention to the lyrics).
Say “Yeah 3x” to a lawsuit
So twitter has been going crazy for the past few days over Calvin Harris and Chris Brown – Two artists unrelated to each other in career work but if they were to work together on a track it would definitely be something amazing. The funny thing is that Chris Brown releases a track, titled “Yeah 3x,” which very much sounds like he collaborated with Calvin Harris. It very much sounds as if Calvin gave Chris the beat from his song “I’m Not Alone” with a minimal amount of musical alterations and said “here use it.” However that certainly was not the case. Calvin Harris made a statement on twitter on how he almost choked on his cereal when heard Chris brown single that morning; Chris Brown used a remarkably similar sounding beat for his new single without Calvin Harris’s permission.
If you have working ears, you can clearly hear how similar both tracks are. And then I hope you can understand how crazy the situation. If not, I could explain. I certainly do not expect the average, mainstream music zombie American to know who Calvin Harris. Nonetheless he very much so has worldwide popular demand and is a very requested DJ in the U.S., especially at clubs like Webster Hall in NYC, and he is of course rather popular in the United Kingdom. Calvin Harris is a major label artist signed to Sony Music and Ultra Records, and if you’re in the music industry you would certainly know about Calvin Harris because he is one of the more talented musicians our right now. Even if Chris Brown didn’t know about that song, somebody from his management team should’ve had the research done before releasing that track. Chris Brown is signed to a different label (Jive Records) there could be a lawsuit coming because this whole issue. Calvin Harris hasn’t made any threats about a lawsuit yet, and I’m not sure if he will, but the legal team at Sony Music may press legal charges because that’s a lot of money involved. And it’s not like Calvin Harris is a minor artist where you can get away with ripping music like that (I’m not at all justifying ripping music – I’m just saying) so if another huge wave of bad publicity starts swarming at Chris Brown, that would indeed suck for him (If I were Chris and this worst case scenario happens, I’d certainly start firing people on my management team).
On the other note, the Chris Brown song is not bad (but it’s not really good either). I think Calvin Harris’s [original] rendition is far better. Below I have both songs below. You are going to have to wait the beat to drop on Calvin Harris’s song and you’ll hear the blatant similarity. Leave comments and opinions below.
